Bulk billing doctors (Richmond and Hawthorn)

Our GPs in Richmond and Hawthorn bulk bill for most consultations for people who have a valid Medicare card, making healthcare more accessible and affordable for our communities.  

There may be an out-of-pocket fee for some procedures for people who don’t hold a valid concession card. 

Fees may apply for non-eligible services, including:

• Procedures like skin excisions

• Diagnostic services like ECG and Pathology

• Allied health and other non-GP services

• Non-MBS services

• Patients without a Medicare number

General Practice Fees (Doncaster)

The out-of-pocket fee for medical practice appointments at Doncaster is:

• Standard consultation - $50

• Long consultation - $60

• Prolonged consultation - $80

• Extended consultation (60+ minutes) - $80

You need to pay for the cost of your visit on the day of your appointment. We accept EFTPOS, credit card* or cash.

We can claim your Medicare rebate on the day. Your rebate will be deposited into your nominated bank account within 48 hours.

You don’t pay for your consultation if you are a bulk billing patient eligible under Medicare.

Bulk billing eligibility

We bulk bill a range of patients who are eligible under Medicare, including:

• Patients with a current Commonwealth Concession card

• Health Care Card holders (except Commonwealth Seniors Health Card)

• Children under 16 years old

• Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander Peoples

• Refugees

• Asylum seekers

Medical Practice Telehealth Appointments

Your GP can speak to you using the telephone or a videolink. We look forward to supporting you to ensure you receive care when you need it.  

Convenient locations and opening hours

Hawthorn doctors: Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Our Hawthorn medical clinic is located on 378 Burwood Road, Hawthorn. On-street parking is available.

Richmond doctors: Monday to Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Our Richmond medical clinic is located at 21-31 Goodwood Street, Richmond. On-street parking is available on Goodwood, Lennox and Waltham Streets.

The Richmond Urgent Care Clinic is co-located at AccessHC Richmond.

Doncaster doctors: Wednesdays 9.30am-3.30pm

Our Doncaster medical clinic is located at 90 Tram Road. It is a short three-minute walk from the Westfield Doncaster shops and public transport hub. Car parking is available on nearby streets.
